Calling All Faith Walkers
What season of life do you find yourself in today? Are you being beaten by high waves and fierce winds, as a result of the storm you're fighting through? If so, then keep fighting as long as you're using the right mindset. Did you call on the Master first? The One who is always with you? When we acknowledge his presence then He hears our cry for help. For grace and mercy. He cares for His own children and will supply our every need as we trust in Him.
Luke 8
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
Maybe you aren't facing a storm, but you're walking into a valley. And it looks very wide and it seems to have no end. The storm is way behind you now, but in this valley you feel the hot sun bearing down as you get more tired, and weary, with each step. During this time, remember that Jesus is the living water. He can and will satisfy your thirst. (John 4:10 & John 7:48) You'll soon discover that Jesus-the Lily of the valley-is right beside you. He carries with him the beautiful aroma of sweet peace and rest.
Psalm 23
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
After you come to the end of your valley, you see the mountain in front of you. You know it has your name on it. Mountains represent many things in the Bible; Transforming encounter, covenant creation, protection and refuge. It looks enormous. It could appear dangerous. And you may say it is impossible for you to climb. But think about it wisely. Unless it is a mountain that needs to be moved (strongholds, repetitive sins..etc) then God has called you to conquer and take the mountain for His glory. He put it in your path for a specific reason. It is certain He will give you the strength to climb.
Below is an example of a glorious mountain experience-three of the disciples experienced great revelation of Jesus' true glory on the mount of transfiguration:
Mark 9
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
God will award His people's walk of faith. Like Noah, we need to move with holy reverence. Like Abraham, we may not know our next step, or see where God's leading us-but we must go. Why? Because we are pilgrims only passing through, seeking a city whose builder and maker is God. And the sufferings we experience, on different levels-in this life-cannot be compared to the glory of King Jesus, which will be revealed in us. (II Corinthians 4:16-19)
Hebrews 11
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
