Lost and Found In Him-Alley Rose-my new YA historical novel

Growing up in the 1970s, I often heard that we were the 'me generation'. The question "Who am I?" was the phrase- seen across the media-that related to us. Though, some teens may have felt it without expressing those exact words. Yet, they dealt with the confusion of not understanding their own purpose in life or where they belonged within their own family and society.

Since several members of my extended family were Christians, I was blessed to know the reality of God. And I learned about him mostly from both my grandmothers-who often took me to church. Though I was young during those years, I absorbed the authentic power and truth of God's Word-which greatly influenced me. Yet in later teen years, I distanced myself from Christian family and church too.

In essence, I had uprooted myself from a godly foundation of truth and love. What's more, after graduation from high school the question of 'Who Am I?' became more profound in my life. I became miserable because of the feeling of emptiness and worthlessness deep inside my soul. Gradually, within that same year, I was drawn to the foot of the cross by Jesus' amazing love and grace. I discovered my true self after I surrendered my whole being in faith.
